I will do you all a favor and preface the start of this blog with a warning: In the following section, I will be writing in an annoyingly metaphorical way where I break down concrete concepts into imaginary theories. You’re welcome for the warning. So on to it, then!
What happens when a walking oxymoron and a juggler cross paths? (Besides the pitch line to a joke you’ve surely never heard of, that is.) Well, let’s look at the parts of this equation. An oxymoron, by definition, is a combination of contradictory terms that somehow make sense. A juggler–besides being someone who continuously tosses balls in the air is, by definition, someone who balances several things at once.
So, Libra and Aquarius, which of you is the oxymoron, and who is the juggler? And how exactly does this joke pan out when you two inevitably walk into a bar?
Well, Libra, I’ll just cut straight to the point. If there’s any sign in the Zodiac who could join the circus, it would be you, and not just because of your penchant for entertaining the masses.
No, no–your skills go way beyond that. Life is a balancing act for you, my friend, and your symbol, the scales of justice, represents this perfectly.
And while the scales represent fairness and equality, the representation is less about searching for justice and more about establishing peace in your everyday life.
If anything, this balance isn’t just restricted to how you juggle work and fun; it’s also a balance of being proactive and reactive.
You respect honesty while also understanding that sometimes lies are necessary–like when you’re playing sick at work so you can go surprise your partner on their birthday.
You detest disrespect unless you’re the one being disrespected, and then you have no problem speaking your mind. You crave stimulation while also requiring some time to recharge alone.
Life is a give and take, and while you might not always be successful at finding this, it’s something you constantly search for.
And just a fun side note (because you’re definitely unique Libra): You’re the only astrology sign in the zodiac represented by an object instead of a concept, an object, mind you, that seeks out harmony above all else.
Aquarius, you don’t believe in falling immediately for someone. You’re ruled by your logic, not by your heart, so you need to take the time to learn who someone is before considering whether you want to have a relationship with that person.
Because you value emotional connection over physical intimacy, you prefer to move slowly. It would benefit you to start out as friends and then become something more rather than leap into a relationship without knowing someone well.
So this leaves you, my Aquarius friend, the walking oxymoron. And well, let’s be honest… You’ve probably been called worse things.
You’re an outlier, someone who goes against the grain of natural society, for starters, and you’re constantly seeking to advance your understanding and knowledge of the people around you and the world you call home (although sometimes you feel like you’re more of an alien from outer space than a human on Earth).
So what exactly makes you an oxymoron, you ask?
Let’s begin with what makes you, well, you. You’re an air sign–which you share in common with Libra over there.
Although air signs are typically the communicators and doers of the zodiac, you Aquarius, have more in common with water signs, which is appropriate since your symbol is the water bearer.
Water signs tend to be more fluid in their approach to life, and like you, Aquarius, rely more on your intuition and connection to your emotions than on how you’re affecting other people.
You’re also a fixed sign, a trait that is usually represented by someone who is set in their ways–but you Aquarius are anything but.
If there’s anything predictable about you, Aquarius, it’s how unpredictable you actually are.
Libra and Aquarius in Friendship
So back to our joke. A juggler working on their balancing act meets an oxymoron who is anything but what they expect. How does this turn out, you ask?
I’ll give you a hint. A juggler excels because they can see things from different perspectives. They know their right hand as well as their left. And for that reason, an oxymoron, the idea of two contradictory concepts making sense, well, a juggler, is just the person who will understand the balance this can add to life.
Aquarius, there’s a chance that out of everyone in the zodiac, Libra will understand you best. They won’t judge your quirks; instead, they’ll bounce between them, eager to learn what sides of you will come out next.
And Libra, Aquarius will bring a balance to your life, one you haven’t experienced in other friendships. You’re a people pleaser and often bounce between opinions to make sure everyone stays happy, but Aquarius will be so busy changing up their routine that they’ll never get angry at you if you can’t predict what they’ll do next.
At your core, you both are free-spirited and adaptive, traits that you two heighten in each other. When you two come together, the world becomes a platform for your next adventure, and anything is possible.
Friend Date: Mani/Pedi or Streaking on the Beach at Midnight?
Of the two of you, Aquarius, you’ll be the more spontaneous one. You’ll suggest daring road trips in the middle of the night, you’ll be the first to jump out of that plane, and you’ll never say no to buying a plane ticket to another country that leaves tomorrow.
This spontaneity may take Libra by surprise, but it will also enliven them, opening them up to opportunities they would never have considered before.
Libra, you’ve spent so much of your life suggesting ideas and then just going with what the other person wants to do; you’ve never stopped to consider your own hobbies and interests.
What you’ll find is that in everything you suggest, Aquarius wants to do–and vice versa. Finally, you’ve met a friend who adds balance to your life because, for once, you don’t need to juggle who you are. You can just be your authentic self.
Friend-Fection: Keep It on the Dl or Text ‘Love Ya Biatch?’
Aquarius, wordplay is not your forte when it comes to relationships, platonic or not. If a disagreement arises, you’re much more keen to let things go and move on without needing to talk about it.
Usually, because it’s one of your friends who is upset with your spontaneous nature, and you don’t really know what to say other than, “This is just who I am.”
Fortunately for you, Libra, won’t have any problem with who you are. But if they do, they’re emotionally sensitive to know how to bring it up without it smothering your free-seeking nature, Aquarius.
They’re the kind of friends that will teach you how to open up with other people and remind you that you don’t always need to do things alone.
Dating Advice: Send His Name or Send His Social?
Libra, you’re ready for love and always willing to look for it. Aquarius? Not so much.
These differences won’t have an impact on your friendship, though. If anything, you’ll offer advice where the other needs to hear it.
Libra, you fall too hard, and Aquarius, well, you don’t let your guard down long enough to let people in. And that’s not to say you don’t trust people–you have plenty of friends you love–but when it comes to love, you’re much slower to embrace intimacy.
Life has worked out just fine on your own, and your Libra will open your eyes to the benefit and beauty of sharing life with someone by your side.
You’ll also know how to set each other straight. Aquarius, when you see Libra, sliding on those rose-colored glasses, you’ll deftly remove them before they fall too fast for a complete stranger.
And Libra, when your Aquarius bud does decide to date, they will have a tendency to go all-in, more for the adventure than the love. You’ll have to remind them that booking an Airbnb in Bali with a complete stranger for a first date is probably not the best idea.
Libra and Aquarius in Love
It’s likely that you two started as friends with a connection like you two have, can anyone blame you? Especially if you have similar tastes, then the world better watch out because fireworks will probably set your bedroom on fire.
But even if you two didn’t start as friends, there will be an instant connection that supplements much of the same things that make a friendship possible between you two. And beneath your love, a friendship you will most definitely have.
Aquarius, it may take you a while to get this point. You’re independent enough that you prefer being alone the second a relationship turns sour. You’d much rather be single and happy than miserable and taken.
Libra, true to your balanced yet indecisive nature, sometimes you prefer a relationship, and sometimes you prefer being alone.
But when you meet Aquarius, there won’t be a question on the table on which option to choose, and for the first time in your life, you’ll make a decision without questioning it, and that’s how you will know that this one’s a keeper.
The First Date: Roses or KFC?
Libra, choosing what to do on a first date has always been difficult for you, but when Aquarius sweeps in, you’ll suddenly have all your questions answered.
They’ll feed you a confidence you didn’t know existed, Libra, and you’ll have no problem deciding on where to go and what to do. Aquarius, you’re up for the adventure.
You don’t care where you go on dates as long as you’re out in the world, experiencing all the newness that life has to offer. Routines are your kryptonite, and fortunately for you, Libra is adaptable to your up-and-go lifestyle, something you’ve struggled to find in previous partners.
Although you’ll always be more spontaneous on your dates, Aquarius, Libra will enjoy them without question and will be more than happy to join you on the ride.
Love Language Do’s and Don’ts: A Dealbreaker?
Not only do you two share interests, but you both understand the value of communication, Libra, maybe a little more so.
Your conversations will unfold effortlessly, and although it may be a bit more difficult for you to express yourself, Aquarius, you will make an effort because you respect Libra enough to give them what they need. You both value quality time and physical touch and have no problem showing PDA, especially since most of that quality time will be spent out in the world exploring new things.
Any potential issues will arrive if Libra feels unheard or left out. This can happen from time to time, especially since Aquarius is accustomed to an independent lifestyle and can often forget that their partner has certain needs they must meet to feel respected.
Aquarius will have no problem meeting those needs, but they need to be alerted about them, and since you, Libra, run from conflict, it may be difficult for you to get the nerves to open up about your insecurities.
Reassurance by way of words of affirmation is more important to you, Libra then they are to you, Aquarius, but Aquarius will never know to give that encouragement unless Libra learns how to speak up and express that they need it.
Sexy Time: Slow and Steady or Chompin’ at the Bit?
Get the fire extinguisher ready, you two. Once you cross this line, there’s no going back. Aquarius, you could care less what other people think of you, and this includes how you express yourself in the bedroom. Libra trusts you and is open to experimenting, but they may be shy at first, as they are more self-conscious of other people’s opinions, including yours.
Intimacy is equally important to the two of you, but Libra, you’ll discover a new level of your love for love when you’re with Aquarius. You’ll not only connect emotionally and physically with them but mentally, sometimes feeling like Aquarius can read your mind.
Just keep in mind–that’s not the case–and if you need to move slower or you want to try new things, Libra, don’t be afraid to speak up because Aquarius is more than happy to abide!
Back to my annoying metaphors: if winning the lottery was the bond between two people, Libra and Aquarius, you’re it.
Your friendship will laminate the winning ticket.
Your love will take the jackpot home–as long you remember that you both need to communicate the winning numbers to make it work.
- 1- Get AWAY from me
- 2- Who are you again?
- 3- I tolerate you
- 4- You’re pretty cool
- 5- Let’s gooooo!
What if I Love This Person?
Then go tell them–and yes, go buy a lotto ticket! (I’ll take one percent for the credit of bringing you two together).
